He is Fantastic!

Ok, when I first moved here from NYC I called around for the most popular hairdressers. I would go in to see their work. If not impressed I leave. When I called Allure the girl whispered "Roy". But he was ALWAYS booked. So it took a while for me to finally get him. Ladies, don't let his looks fool you. He can do whatever you ask for, I say as long as you have a picture. Excellent colorist and Fantastic cutter. Oh, he blowdries hair like nobody can and that is HARD to find in this town!!

• Pros: They have great makeup
• Cons: hairdressers need a makeover

Terrible Experience

Had a brow wax and massage. Brow wax was okay (not great), but massage was terrible. Massage therapist kept the room cold so SHE was comfortable, started with my feet, and sort of rubbed randomly instead of therapeutically. Will NEVER return.

worst experience ever

My kids got me a gift certificate. The massage was awful. The girl used some kind of scented oil. I have allergies, so whatever she used stopped me up. I wanted something nice and relaxing , all she did was keep telling me how tight I was. I couldn't relax and I could hardly move the next day. Not to mention the girl talked through the whole massage. This girl is not qualifed to be giving massages. I will never go back.

Great spa and Staff

I have been to spas before. But this was the first time I had a massage. I also got a facial,manicure and pedicure. Everything was great. The staff was very friendly and courtieous. They catared to my every want. But there was one down side and only one. The massage therapist wouldnt stop talking. She talked the entire time I was in there. She was getting things out of the cabinents loudly and making all kinds of noise. She even had gum in her mouth popping bubbles. The woman who gave my facial was excellent. And so was everyone else. They really make you feel welcome. I reccomend it.

Nice atmosphere, Friendly staff, but AVERAGE services for the price range

I had a massage and a facial waxing service...Receptionists were friendly and thorough, BUT...

The Massage was pleasant, overall, but by no means therapeutic or relaxing. The therapist was so talkative I felt like I had to talk back, so I couldn't relax. And it wasn't the best, as I've had many different massages, so don't waste your money.

The waxing was a eyebrow, lip, chin...what a JOKE! She wouldn't do my eyebrows how I wanted them done, so I had to go home and finish the job myself...and she didn't even do all of my chin because her next client had arrived---It would've taken less than 5 min.

So for 3 waxing services: $45 total...plus tip---for what? To have to go home and finish it myself!!

I've learned my lesson about this place...it's just average, if not sub par.

***I will say this though...that I posted this review 11/14/07, but things DO change so if you're looking at this a few months from now...a spa can have a complete turnover in employees by then. It's the nature of the business.

***Also, My friend had a pedicure and was pleased...so this review has no bearing on the nail services.

• Cons: Limited Parking, On a busy intersection, Customer Service, Pricing

Overpriced bad haircut

I had found a stylist at Allure that I really liked. Unfortunately, she left and the receptionist would not tell me what salon she had gone to, but wanted to recommend another stylist. So I saw another stylist for a haircut. I showed her a picture and talked to the stylist about how I wanted my hair cut. Her reply was "I'm just going to free hand it." The hair cut was SO bad, it was like one type of haircut in the back and a completely different style in the front. The next time I got my haircut, the stylist asked me how I had even been fixing my hair. Basically, I had to get most of my hair cut off. I will never go back to Allure and would never tell any of my friends to go there for a haircut.

great experience

from the moment i made the appointment it great!! when i arrived i was greeted very friendly and even by name! i was given a package from my husband for mothers day so i had the works! my massage was wonderful, it was completly relaxing and any stiffness i had previously was gone. i also had an amazing facial. my skin has never felt so good. they carry bare escentual too, and they told me it was one of the only makeups that you can put on directly after a facial. i was hooked! i then had a manicure and pedicure. they have the most relaxing pedicure chairs ever! the foot massage was great and the polish was perfect. i finished up with my haircut, and it looked great. they really took the time to listen to what i wanted. overall i had a great experience at allure salon. i highly recommend them!! it made the perfect gift!

Love!Love!Love! everything I had done! everyone was so friendly and the place was very very nice and the prices were great for what you received! I had hi-lites and cut ! she was very professional! we talked first and i told her what i wanted and it was wonderful i felt like a million bucks. I had a facial very relaxing! I bought there dermalogica products my face feels great and looks great.I saw they sold bare minerals.a lot of great products i haven't seen in other salons.The pedicure was so relaxing the Ped. chairs they have were wonderful and the music was soothing! great experience! will be back for more! They truly cared!

• Cons: wish there were more Allure salons out there!!! No cons.

WANTED BLOND GOT BRASSY

I at the beginning said "Whatever you do, leave the bleach on long enough so I won't have brassy orange highlights" Well, guess what I got! The reason the highlights were not left on long enough was because her next client came in- so tough luck for me and the way my hair will look for the next couple of months! I called back and the stylist would not come to the phone and told the receptionist to tell me all she could do was to put a toner on it in 2 weeks. Toner is not going to fix this, even I know that. I spoke to the owner and she said she does not do hair and did not understand what my problem was. yeh right..no apology. Oh, and I dried my hair myself while I was there, remember her next client was there!
