The Inside Scoop from a Teacher. I can tell you from my experience being on the inside. I used to be employed by LAI. I loved my job and my students. Now that I look back on it, I feel so bad for them. I guess I come from the old school of thought and action where an education is supposed to help people. All the LAI people, as in Debra Hooper, care about is themselves, and herself. It is a for-profit institution that relies heavily on innocent people that are eligible for government loans. In other words, they prey upon people that have little chance of repaying the huge amount of money they are asked to get from the federal government because the educational system at LAI is not that, it's a money making system for Debra and Roger, the owners. They don't give a rat's a__ about anything but their profits. If you sit in one of their chairs all they will see is dollar signs.
The truth shall set you free!.
Word to the wise, look elsewhere for your educational needs. You can be assured your work will be worth the effort down the road. Their credits are not accepted by the reputable schools. And if you DO decide to deal with these people, keep accurate records. They like to drag people to court over bogus fees they don't have coming to them, their claim was dismissed against me because I did keep accurate records. I am guessing they thought after 13 months I'd tossed out my papers. Wrong!
Interestingly enough I ran into a old classmate today and learned the school is still not properly accredited, and due to this fact she's been unable to get a job with the 'diploma' that she earned from LAI. Also the major selling point they boast is that they will in fact help students find employment when their education is finished, apparently you have to call them daily in order for them to do so. As a matter of reference I should also point out that the student I spoke with today (12/15/10) was one of the top in the graduating class, and received Deans List diploma's every module. I doubt her unemployed status has anything to do with her own marketability. What is sickening is that these people continue to get away with this, and frankly should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people the way they do.
