Don't let the location fool or turn you off. This place is truly a hidden gem. I have NEVER had better chinese food east of Hong Kong. You will not be disappointed and make sure you order from the authentic menu. But don't worry, even from the normal menu the food is hot, fresh, and amazin. The Hot and Sour soup, dumplings, and fish in black bean sauce are great.

Sampan carries traditional Chinese dishes. I love the clay pot dishes. Get the items from the Chinese menu. They are good! If you don't know Chinese, ask the server for help in translating the menu. The dishes on the normal English menu are average. Good service. Expect to spend more time here than at your average Chinese place if you order the clay pot dishes.

Sampan is the only Chinese restaurant that our Chinese friends actually eat at in town. The inside of the restaurant is nicer than the traditional Chinese restaurant. The menu offers a wide variety of Americanized meals as well as true Chinese meals that aren't even translated into English. The crab ran goon is absolutely to die for, and the soups are almost as good. There are also a variety of Chinese desserts that you shouldn't miss.
