They buy stolen property. My daughter's ex-boyfriend stole my Rolex watch and Camel hocked it for him without any proof of ownership. I had to pay money to buy back my own property. Sleazy people.
Excellent Pricing and Very Knowledgeable and Kind Staff!!. I got greeted by a really nice staff member who I think was the manager or owner. I was told by many people in Winston-Salem to try CCP as an alternative to high end jewelry. Well the recommendations were spot on. I picked up an incredible engagement ring for a fabulous price! I can't recommend these guys strongly enough if you are in the market for jewelry. You can certainly pay more around town but why would you if you have alternatives like Camel City? And for the record, its not just about price, they really were wonderful to work with. So give them a try!
Great place for engagement/wedding rings.
Camel is a great location for buying engagement rings and/or wedding bands. I got my wife's engagement ring here after shopping around (mall, internet, etc) for the best deal. Ronnie will match anybody on price and quality. I came back again to buy my wife's wedding band and cufflinks for my groom's men. Ronnie and his staff took care of my orders perfectly (engraving included).
Buy with confidence
Horrible, rude staff. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I am a professional woman who was wanting to sell a couple of pieces of very nice diamond rings, and was waited on by Ronnie. Ronnie was rude, curt, unprofessional, and downright unpleasant. I have heard from the Buena Vista crowd that Camel Pawn shop was a great place to sell, and to also buy nice, quality jewelry...but I will never, ever step foot in that door again. It's a real shame that people who are supposed to be in a service-oriented field treat the public so rudely!
Friendly Staff But Not Good For Musical Instrument Deals And Trades. The people at Camel Pawn are very friendly and willing to help, but I can see why pawn business like these are losing customers to eBay when it comes to musical instrument dealings. They're good for anything non-musical instrument related but that's it. I will give you an example; I went to several pawn shops trying to get top dollar for a drum machine/sequencer I had (this was before eBay was around). At the time, it was worth at least $350 used but they only offered to give me $75 for it. I talked them into $125. Then a few weeks later I went back and it was sitting there for sale AT NEARLY LIST PRICE (almost $500!). So yeah, stick to eBay for musical instrument deals, everything else Camel is ok for.
