Lost a Customer!

I used to love West End Cafe. I've been going there for years. The last time I went there it was less than impressive, but I thought I would give it another shot. I was disappointed again! The wait time for a Saturday night wasn't that bad. (maybe people are catching on) Once my boyfriend and I were seated our waitress was less than friendly. She lacked normal skills throughout the entire meal. Like telling us what the specials on the board were or even getting us refills. The food was horrible! From the salad, which was wilted, to waiting 45 minutes for a under cooked piece of beef tenderloin. (it came rare) The menu said it came with green beans and it came to the table with asparagus. My boyfriends dish was over cooked chicken with under cooked rice. All the while the waitress was too busy talking with friends at another table to be bothered to ask us if things were OK. I don't know what happened to this place, but they have lost several customers!
Awful across the board

This was one of my favorite restaurants in W-S. No More. I went for dinner on a Saturday night. The wait for the table was not long, but once inside we found our waitress to be lacking the essential skills to actually perform her job. Such as friendliness, prompt service, and overall people skills. The salad was wilted and room temp. I had the paella and the chicken was over cooked, the seafood was undercooked, and the rice was cold and had too much broth. From salad to main course was about 45 minutes. Our drinks stayed empty for most of the night. The dining room was full of staff members. At no point did any of them see that most of the diners in our section were obviously frustrated by our waitress and the wait. When we got the check, no one bothered to ask how our meal was, or if we enjoyed our food. Overall this was on my top five list of worst dining experiences of all time. We will not be going back.

I have always enjoyed my meals here. They have a very brought menu from Subs to steak and fish. The other day had a hot Italian sub which was great and cost effective. My husband had blacked shimp po'boy which he loved. I have not had the more upscale items some of which are in the 20 dollar range. I just wish they were open for brunch.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: At peak time may need to wait.
