Ugh. We used to eat here at least once a week and it was really good. We have not been in a while and recently been going once a month or so. The food just did not seem as good. We went tonight, both of us starving. He got carne asada and I got Guadalajara especial. His meat was burned and had no flavor and he couldn't eat it :-o. My taquitos were burnt and tasteless, along side was some flavorless crumbled beef, dry chicken a dried out blah tamale. Our waiter kept walking by eyeing our full plates on the side of the table. He never said a word. We just got up to pay and leave (he left half a grande dos Equis :-o). Our waiter checked us out, had no doubt who we were but did not say a word, didn't ask how our meal was or anything. The guy was having trouble getting the credit card machine to work but didn't say anything to us but was tending to the hostess who had a problem. My man finally grabbed his credit card and we left. Probably won't be going back again though it is very convenient .

I love el maguey. El maguey is like a father to me. I eat there literally 2 times a week. Tacos de carne asada are soo good. The owner is very friendly. It is my favorite place in the world!

Fantastic place to eat!!. My husband and I eat here almost every week. They have the best food and great service. This is a great place to eat with family, friends, or on a date night. If you are in or around Pfafftown, and are looking for a good place to eat, definitely go here.

delicious authentic mexican fare. This IS the best mexican restaurant in the area. The food is always delicious and authentic. Wide variety to choose from, not the standard "same ol, same ol" The staff is like family and curteous and very conscientious. Be prepared to wait but it is well worth it

Best Mexican Restaurant in Winston. This is the best mexican restaurant I have found in the Winston area. The food is always delicious and the service is great. I have yet to have a bad experience in the several years that I have been a customer.

Great food and HUGE menu. I was introduced to this gem of a mexican restaurant by a friend about six months ago. It has the best mexican I've found around Winston and the menu is unbelievably gigantic. Everything I have tried there is excellent and tastes very fresh, aside from some sub par cheese dip. Compared to other places, I would recommend this one because you can actually tell the difference between different things you order unlike most mexican I've been to (Mi Pueblos, La Caretta, etc). Also, they do 99 cent draft Dos Equis most nights of the week which is always a good thing.

El Maguey Restaurant. Food and serve very good. Best restaurant in the Pfafftown area. Excellent value. Busy on Sundays at lunch
