Love it!. Very good for brunch. The Outdoor seating is great even on those warm summer days. Also good for lunch. Have never had dinner.

Good food, reasonable price.. We recently visited here for Sunday brunch and were very happy with everything. We arrived around 10:30 am and were seated promptly (the outdoor area was probably 60% filled). Our waiter was fine, producing drinks, food, and checking on us in a timely manner. The food was good, not amazing, but better than the average breakfast places we have been. Prices were in the $6-$10 range (brunch). I ordered the Downtown Breakfast (two eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and toast) while my wife ordered the eggs benedict with apples and grits. The eggs were excellent, while the grits and toast were good. The hash browns I didn't enjoy, but there was nothing wrong with them. I simply did not like the seasoning. The bacon was amazingly crisp, almost oven cooked, but seemed to lack any dynamic flavor. Which is not necessarily a bad thing on a sandwich. My wife's apples were very good, and she commented the benedict was excellent as well. We are looking forward to trying other things, including dinner or lunch.

Aweful Service, Menu has not changed in years, food is terrible. Filling station used to be one of my favorite brunch spots in Winston Salem. In the past three years, they have not updated their brunch menu One time, their service continues to be the worst in all of Winston Salem - it has taken half an hour on some visits to get water refilled! Their food tastes like mass produced fast food dining, either greasy and bland or just bland. I would avoid this place like the plague. If you want brunch in Winston Salem - I recommend ANYTHING else.

best all-around restaurant in winston-salem!!. There are so many ways to compliment this restaurant. Let's start with the food!! The menu is diverse and not pretentious. The food is uncommonly consistent. That statement alone separates this restaurant from 85% of the "competition". The menu incorporates local fare with international flare. For instance; the Carolina Shrimp and Grits and the Chinese Chicken Salad are worth making two trips for. One of my favorite reasons for frequenting this restaurant is the atmosphere! The patio is by far the nicest in the area. They even provide a heated section in the winter that stays toasty even on the coldest nights. However, if the cold is just too much for you the fireplace in the dining room will provide a romantic and memorable occasion on any night. It just doesn't get any better than the Filling Station in Winston-Salem. I even planned my offices' last two holiday parties there for around 50 people and will continue to do so for many years to come. It's so easy to plan the parties. All you have to do is visit the website at theoldfourthstreetfillingstation and peruse the catering platters, or order directly off the menu. This "diamond in the rough" will be my absolute favorite in Winston-Salem for many years.

Great atmosphere!. Filling Station has the best patio in Winston Salem! Perfect for a romantic dinner, drinks after work or Sunday brunch. Live music on Thursdays and half price bottles of wine on Wednesdays make the patio even better! I have been going there since I've lived here and never been disappointed. Try the Brie stuffed chicken or the tapas. Everything is good!
